Extension: Crypto Tools & Alert (for Binance) v4.0

Overview

Crypto Tools & Alert (for Binance) is a read-only dashboard and alert system for crypto market data (Spot, Futures, and Alpha/AP). It does not collect personal data, does not use tracking or analytics, and does not sell data. All user settings and history are stored locally in the browser.

Scope

This policy applies to the Chrome extension v4.0 only. It covers data processed by the extension itself, including background refresh, notifications, and optional messaging integrations. It does not cover third-party websites that you open separately in your browser.

Data the extension processes

The extension processes the following categories of data:

  • Market data: prices, klines, volume, indicators, and derived values from public APIs.
  • User configuration: symbols, timeframes, columns, preferences, and UI settings.
  • Alerts: price alerts, auto alerts, custom alerts, and alert history.
  • Snapshots: recording/snapshot history for live prices.
  • Forecast: forecast profiles, weights, thresholds, and evaluation state.
  • RSS/news: enabled sources, filters, cached items, and alert routing.

Feature-level data flow (summary)

  • Live Prices: fetches market data and calculates indicators locally.
  • Auto Alerts: evaluates indicator conditions in real time and triggers notifications.
  • Custom Alerts: evaluates user-defined conditions against calculated indicators.
  • Price Alerts: monitors price levels and trailing/pullback rules.
  • Recording/Snapshots: stores time-stamped rows locally for review/export.
  • Forecast: aggregates indicator signals using local profiles and weights.
  • Market Pulse and ETF: fetches macro data and caches it locally.
  • RSS News: fetches RSS feeds, caches items locally, and can trigger alerts.

Data NOT collected

  • No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact lists.
  • No browsing history or visited pages.
  • No passwords or payment information.
  • No analytics identifiers or advertising IDs.

Local storage (Chrome storage)

The extension stores configuration and history in Chrome storage (sync and local). Examples include:

  • Symbol lists, timeframes, and column selections.
  • Alert definitions, thresholds, cooldowns, and history.
  • Recording/snapshot history and export settings.
  • Forecast profiles and preferences.
  • RSS/news settings and cached items.

Chrome sync storage may be synchronized by Chrome across your devices if you enable Chrome Sync. The extension itself does not transmit your settings to the developer.

Notifications

The extension uses Chrome notifications to show alerts. Notification content can include symbol, timeframe, condition, and current value. Notifications are generated locally.

Telegram and Discord notifications

If you enable Telegram or Discord notifications, you provide a bot token/chat ID or webhook URL. These secrets are encrypted locally using AES-GCM and stored only in your browser. The passphrase is never stored. When an alert is sent, the message is transmitted directly to Telegram or Discord.

Background processing and offscreen

The extension uses the offscreen permission to fetch market data and RSS updates in the background. Background alarms schedule periodic refresh and alert checks. This allows alerts and caches to update even when the popup is closed.

Permissions and why they are needed

  • storage – save your settings, alerts, and local history.
  • notifications – display alert notifications.
  • alarms – schedule background refresh and alert checks.
  • offscreen – run background fetches for data and RSS.

The extension fetches data only from these allowed hosts:

These endpoints may receive your IP address as part of standard internet communication. The extension does not store or log IP addresses.

Embedded content

The extension can display embedded content from TradingView (ticker tape) and Tradays (economic calendar). These services may load their own resources within the embedded frame.

Web accessible resources

The extension exposes internal chart resources for its own chart view: chart.html and js/chart/chart.js. These are used only to render the extension’s chart view.

External links opened by the user

The extension includes buttons and links that open external websites in a new tab. This happens only when you click them. Examples include:

These links are opened by the browser as standard navigation. The extension does not send your settings or personal data to those sites.

No tracking or analytics

The extension does not use analytics, ads, or tracking scripts. It does not collect browsing history, and it does not access your tabs.

Data sharing

The extension does not sell or share personal data. Data is transmitted only to the third-party services required for market data and to Telegram/Discord if you enable those notifications.

Data retention and removal

All data is stored locally in your browser. You can clear it from the Options page, reset settings to defaults, or uninstall the extension to remove all local data.

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Incognito mode

Behavior and privacy are identical to normal mode; no additional data collection occurs. Incognito mode works only if the extension is enabled for Incognito in Chrome.

No financial advice

All data and signals are informational and educational only and do not constitute investment, financial, or trading advice.

How users can verify these claims

You can inspect the extension’s files in Chrome (chrome://extensions → Crypto Tools & Alert → “Inspect views” / “View in Chrome Web Store”) to verify there is no telemetry, analytics SDK, tracking pixel, or background reporting to our servers.

All settings and alert logic run locally. Network requests are limited to the public endpoints listed in this policy.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
